it feels more like summer

Spring break is here and I couldn't be happier! My stats class has been anything but easy. Leave it to me to leave all my math requirements for last! Other than school and work, nothing much has happened. I'm not doing anything special for spring break as of now. I guess I'm more of a wait and see how it goes type of person; I'm sure I will do some fun impromptu things! Christian is always good with coming up with things to do. I'm the last one of my friends to be on spring break so we'll see if I get to hang out with my besties. Today was my last day of class and I went for about 20 min to turn in my final project proposal, and now I'm home waiting to go to work. So I leave you with a picture of me and my grown out bangs. I've always had short bangs but now I'm not sure if I want to go short again. What do you ladies think?

march babies

So this weekend we celebrated Christian's and my dad's birthday! I had a very busy week with school, work and with preparing all the birthday arrangements. Wednesday was my dad's actual birthday so we headed down to Old Town Pasadena for dinner at The Melting Pot! Fondue yummyness occurred. I love having dinner with my family, and I love that we don't only do it on special occasions. It was a fun night and my dad had a great time!

The next day I worked 1-close so I was not too excited since I had to run all my errands for Christian in the morning. I bought him a cake at this yummy Cuban bakery that's in Old Town Monrovia; got him a red velvet cake, it's so good and his favorite. I went to work and put the delicious cake in our fridge while I worked my long shift. Then on my break I went to buy him his present and a card. I got him an ipod since his had broken on him a while ago, he's been meaning to buy himself one but I decided I would get him one instead. So after work I drove down to his place and we had a chicken salad for dinner and then proceeded to watch season five of Weeds. I had his cake and present in my car, ready to go once it turned midnight! I was so nervous, haha. So once it turned midnight I yelled out HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And ran to my car to grab the cake and present. He was surprised and super happy. He was so excited about the cake, and he knew exactly where I got it from. When he opened his present his was beyond happy! I love giving people presents, I pride myself in being a good gift giver. ;]

Later on in the afternoon we headed down to Long Beach to visit the Queen Mary. They do this Ghost and Legends of the Queen Mary tour before the regular tour and it's soo cheesy! We were laughing the whole time. After that we walked around the ship and read up on all the interesting history the ship has. We started to get hungry but we decided to grab a drink at the Observation Art Deco Lounge they had inside. It was super Art Deco and it was so neat to be in there having a drink. We then drove to dowtown LB to grab a late lunch/dinner. We decided to go to Rock Bottom Brewery. I had the Mac'n Chicken, it was soo yummy! And Christian had their BBq burger; I had a bite, it was super good! Their beer was pretty good too. We then headed back to his place where we cuddled for a bit before beer pong. It was fun and all his friends were there, hanging out and having a good time. Christian was super happy and it made me happy! We then headed out to this brewery by DTLA, it's in an artist community and it's a loft turned brewery, it's pretty neat! When you drive through the area you see a lot of the things that the artist's are working on. We had some more drinks and conversed, over all a really nice day! By the time we got back to Christian's place he was very tired, so that was that! Christian told me he had a great birthday, so mission accomplished!

Yesterday we had a surprise Luau Party for my dad's 44th! Everyone came over and it was a lot of fun! My dad had no idea. It's always fun to have everyone together, we have such a huge family that it's never a small get together even if we want it to be.

Right now I'm taking a break from reading my chapter for stats. I'm watching Life for now on the Discovery channel, it's really good! I had my first test of the semester on wednesday and I don't think I did so great...I'm bummed but I'm determined to do better on the rests of the tests! I won't let this bring me down. Tomorrow is a new week, new day, a fresh start. :]

Hope all is well!

Valentine's Day

A little late, but it's finals week! So I've been busy, busy! I woke up Sunday morning to my dad giving me a rose. He's so cute! Each year since I was young my dad would give my sister and I a rose, so Valentine's Day has never been a holiday that I've absolutely hated. It was Christian and I's first Valentine's Day! So I got up and started baking some sweets for my sweet Christian! I made him some brownie bite cupcakes and some heart shaped cookies Super yummy if I do say so myself. So that took up most of my morning. After that I relaxed for a bit and caught up on The Mentalist, if you like crime scene shows, you should definitely check it out, it has a quirky twist to it! Anyway, after that I started to get ready for dinner at Bottega Louie in Downtown, LA. I've been wanting to check this restaurant for some time now, so I was super excited when Christian told me that he had made reservations there! I finished getting ready and then I got all of Christian's little presents ready. I've been a little strapped for cash lately so I did not go all out like I would have liked to. I got him a nice shirt and a pair of shoes he's been wanting and a card of course! I also got him a bag of his favorite candy, which are Swedish Fish! And I framed a picture of us for him. :]

So I headed over to Christian's place around 5:30 since our reservations where at 7:30 so we could enjoy some champagne and exchange our presents. Christian had given me one of my presents the night before ,because he couldn't wait, which was a box of assorted chocolate truffles, yum! He is so sweet and thoughtful! He made me a card and a mix cd! He also bought me some beautiful roses and a gift certificate to the salon I go to. He listens so well! Not too long ago I mentioned, not on purpose ;], that I really needed to get my hair done, but the salon I go to is really pricey...and since my hours have been getting cut at work, I haven't had the funds to go. I'm really picky with who touches my hair since I have curly hair and I've had some horrible things happen to it when I've spent less on my hair. So it really is nice of him to do that because it's not cheap there. After that, we had some champagne and took pictures of ourselves all done up!

Then we headed off to the restaurant. When we got there we were seated right away since we had reservations. Normally they don't take reservations but Christian has a friend that got us one, which was really nice of him! Everything on the menu looked so good! We got the asparagus with fried egg as an appetizer which was super delicious! And for our entrees I got the ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese and spinach and Christian got the trenne pasta and we both had some wine. It was all very good! For dessert we had some french macaroons, which were my absolute favorite when I was in France. Overall we had a very nice dinner! We then headed back to Christian's house to enjoy the rest of our night and some more wine. I'm so lucky and grateful to have Christian in my life. He makes me so happy! I had an amazing Valentine's Day, and I hope you all did too! What did you guys do?

Here are some pictures, Christian has the pictures from the restaurant so who knows when I'll be getting those, haha:
Cupcakes!
Makeup!
Outfit! Worn with black suede pumps!
All done up! :]

monday

Today was a pretty productive day. I haven't had a whole day off in a while so I got to get some errands done. First, I had breakfast with my friend Tiffany at The Peach Cafe in Old Town Monrovia. The food was super fresh! We both had omelets, and shared and half stack of blueberry pancakes, so amazing! Our meals came with some corn bread, which was delicious as well. After Tiff and I hung out for a bit and then I got to running some errands. Took some clothes to the dry cleaner, went to the drug store and picked up some essentials, and then went home to clean my room and do some laundry. I had a nice day, now I'm just relaxing. I'm a little tired but I want to go to the gym so I'm going to drag myself there in a bit.

Blueberry Pancakes!
