march babies

So this weekend we celebrated Christian's and my dad's birthday! I had a very busy week with school, work and with preparing all the birthday arrangements. Wednesday was my dad's actual birthday so we headed down to Old Town Pasadena for dinner at The Melting Pot! Fondue yummyness occurred. I love having dinner with my family, and I love that we don't only do it on special occasions. It was a fun night and my dad had a great time!

The next day I worked 1-close so I was not too excited since I had to run all my errands for Christian in the morning. I bought him a cake at this yummy Cuban bakery that's in Old Town Monrovia; got him a red velvet cake, it's so good and his favorite. I went to work and put the delicious cake in our fridge while I worked my long shift. Then on my break I went to buy him his present and a card. I got him an ipod since his had broken on him a while ago, he's been meaning to buy himself one but I decided I would get him one instead. So after work I drove down to his place and we had a chicken salad for dinner and then proceeded to watch season five of Weeds. I had his cake and present in my car, ready to go once it turned midnight! I was so nervous, haha. So once it turned midnight I yelled out HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And ran to my car to grab the cake and present. He was surprised and super happy. He was so excited about the cake, and he knew exactly where I got it from. When he opened his present his was beyond happy! I love giving people presents, I pride myself in being a good gift giver. ;]

Later on in the afternoon we headed down to Long Beach to visit the Queen Mary. They do this Ghost and Legends of the Queen Mary tour before the regular tour and it's soo cheesy! We were laughing the whole time. After that we walked around the ship and read up on all the interesting history the ship has. We started to get hungry but we decided to grab a drink at the Observation Art Deco Lounge they had inside. It was super Art Deco and it was so neat to be in there having a drink. We then drove to dowtown LB to grab a late lunch/dinner. We decided to go to Rock Bottom Brewery. I had the Mac'n Chicken, it was soo yummy! And Christian had their BBq burger; I had a bite, it was super good! Their beer was pretty good too. We then headed back to his place where we cuddled for a bit before beer pong. It was fun and all his friends were there, hanging out and having a good time. Christian was super happy and it made me happy! We then headed out to this brewery by DTLA, it's in an artist community and it's a loft turned brewery, it's pretty neat! When you drive through the area you see a lot of the things that the artist's are working on. We had some more drinks and conversed, over all a really nice day! By the time we got back to Christian's place he was very tired, so that was that! Christian told me he had a great birthday, so mission accomplished!

Yesterday we had a surprise Luau Party for my dad's 44th! Everyone came over and it was a lot of fun! My dad had no idea. It's always fun to have everyone together, we have such a huge family that it's never a small get together even if we want it to be.

Right now I'm taking a break from reading my chapter for stats. I'm watching Life for now on the Discovery channel, it's really good! I had my first test of the semester on wednesday and I don't think I did so great...I'm bummed but I'm determined to do better on the rests of the tests! I won't let this bring me down. Tomorrow is a new week, new day, a fresh start. :]

Hope all is well!

hello

I've had a bit of a busy week. This week is finals week and I am so tired! Last week started working on my research paper( which I had a little more than a month to work on, I know horrible!) so I hardly got any sleep this weekend! I had work all weekend and it was such crappy shifts. All I wanted to do was finish my paper and show it to my professor the following day so I could turn it in error free on Thursday! So today I finished my paper, drove to school and had my professor go over it. Overall a well written paper! I am so happy I got this out of my way so I can get everything else I need to do done.

We finally finished decorating my house! It looks super cute. I love that my Mom still has ornaments that my sister and I made when we were kids. My favorite ornaments would have to be the ones I brought back from my trip to Europe 3 years ago, Especially the one from Paris but I just found out that one broke so now I'm a little upset, haha.

I finished most of my Christmas shopping! I only have my Dad's gift left and he is so hard to shop for. I never know what to get him. I think I'm going to get him a a nice dress shirt for work. He is always having business meetings so I figure he can never have enough dress shirts! I really hope everyone loves their Christmas presents. I pride myself in being a great gift giver. What I hope even more is that Christian likes his present, he's been nothing but great so he deserves a nice present. I spent a lot on Christmas gifts, which I don't care, but now I am broke so I can't afford to buy presents for my friends. I was thinking of baking them some little Christmas goodies! I think I am. :]

Christian is leaving to Florida next Monday to spend the Holidays with his parents. He won't be back till New Years Day, which makes me sad that I won't be spending these days with him but I completely understand. I know how much he misses his family so it also makes me happy that he will be there having a good time with his family! I will miss him a lot, but it is only 11 days so it's not bad at all. The last time he left for the east coast he was gone for a month! So 11 days is really nothing. I will keep myself very busy while he is gone, that is for sure.

I'm so glad school is almost over. I can't believe I have one full semester left and then I transfer out! PCC has been good to me, and I've changed, and gone through so much during my time there but it really is about time to transfer out. I can't wait to start taking courses that I like at CSULA. I get to take my last winter course at PCC and that is only 6 weeks long! Then I'm taking Statistics and a cycling class for spring semester. I am excited for that, and to finally be on my way to getting my BA.

Hope all is well and that you all have your Christmas shopping done! :]
